BRANKS

BRANKS Guide

Play more. Climb the ranks. Run it all from one screen.

BRANKS turns open play into a ranked game: organizers run courts, queues and scores from one screen, and every verified game earns players points toward a rank.

For players

Get started

  1. 1Register and verify your email. You get a BRANKS player ID (like BRANKS-00001) that is yours for good.
  2. 2Add a profile photo and your location. The photo is also your first mission.
  3. 3Find an event under Live games and RSVP, or ask the organizer to add you to the roster.
  4. 4Play. Every game that is verified earns ranking points, and your rank is worked out from your total.

Your pass

My page has a QR pass and a shareable profile link that show you as a verified BRANKS player.

Follow along

Live games and rankings are public. You only need an account to RSVP, check in and earn points.

Practice doesn't count

Sessions marked Practice or clinic are not ranked. Everything else is.

For players

How you earn points

Points come from games, not from turning up alone, and they only count once a game is verified (the organizer does this automatically when the event ends). Each game is worked out in three steps.

Total 44 game points, then multiplied by the event.

1. Base points

10 for playing, plus 30 for a win or 10 for a loss. So even a loss earns 20, and a win earns 40.

2. Bonuses

A bigger winning margin adds up to +6 for the winner and +1 for the loser. Facing stronger opponents adds up to +6 more. Games recorded as winner-only have no margin bonus.

3. Event multiplier

The total is multiplied by how big the event is, from about 0.5× for everyday open play up to 3× for major tournaments.

Worked example: You win 11-7 (+4 margin) at a standard 1.0× event: 10 + 30 + 4 = 44 points. The same win at everyday open play (about 0.5×) is roughly 22. At a provincial tournament worth 2× it is 88.

  • Beat stronger players. The opponent bonus is how a newer player climbs fast. Your first 5 ranked games count you as 200 points for this, so early games are not punished.
  • Repeat matchups fade. Meeting the same opponents again the same day pays 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, then nothing, so mix up who you play.
  • Missions add more. Completing a mission pays bonus points on top (see below).

For players

Ranks and tiers

Points are for your rank only. Your rank is read from your total points, but you cannot move up into the next tier until every mission of your current tier is done. There are nine tiers, each split into III, II and I (I is the highest), plus Champion for the leaderboard's number one. The first tiers take the most points, so the early climb is a real challenge.

  1. Rookie

Every rally begins with a first bounce.

    from 0 pts

  2. Rallyer

Keeping the ball alive, back and forth.

    from 500 pts

  3. Dinker

Soft hands at the kitchen line.

    from 1,300 pts

  4. Attacker

Speed-ups and smashes that end points.

    from 2,250 pts

  5. Controller

Placement so precise it picks the winner.

    from 3,300 pts

  6. Strategist

Reads the court two shots ahead.

    from 4,400 pts

  7. Ace

    Brilliant, hard to break, rare.

    from 5,500 pts

  8. Master

Wears the crown on any court.

    from 6,750 pts

  9. Legend

A name every club talks about.

    from 8,150 pts

  10. Champion

Held by the #1 player on the board.

    Not a points threshold

Ranking up: Each tier starts at its III sub-rank. If you have the points but not the missions, your points are saved and your rank moves up the moment the last mission is done. A rank-up celebration appears the next time you open your page, and you can share it.

Leaderboards: The city, province, region and national rankings are not ordered by points. They are ordered by your record in ranked events: most wins first, then win rate, then fewest losses. Each event counts once, by where you finished: 1st place is a win, 2nd and 3rd are half a win, 4th and 5th count as played, and 6th or lower is a loss.

For players

Missions and badges

Missions are required, not optional: finish every mission of your tier to rank up into the next one. They are laid out tier by tier on your page and plan page, and they also pay a points reward by themselves the moment a verified game completes them. Typical missions:

  • Add a profile photo+30
  • Complete your first verified game+30
  • Record your first win+50
  • Win 5 games within 10+80
  • Beat a player a full rank above you+95
  • Win 3 games in a row+75
  • Play in 3 different events+75
  • Beat a Master-ranked player+125

Missions above your tier stay hidden until you have progress on them, so the board only shows what is within reach. Rewards grow from 30 points at Rookie to 250 at Legend.

Badges

One badge per tier, earned by a specific achievement. A pop-up celebrates each new badge, and every earned badge has its own share page.

  • First Bounce

Finish your first ranked game (a game that earned ranking points).

  • Keep It Alive

    Finish 10 ranked games.

  • Soft Hands

Win 5 of your first 10 ranked games.

  • The Upset

Win a game against a player a whole tier above you (a Dinker beating an Attacker).

  • Court Control

Win 55% or more of any 20 ranked games in a row.

  • Two Shots Ahead

Win 60% or more of any 25 ranked games in a row.

  • Ace Hunter

Win a game against opponents ranked Master or higher.

  • Master Breaker

Win a game against opponents ranked Legend.

  • Legendary Run

75 or more ranked games, a 65%+ win rate and 100 career wins.

For players

Seasons

Rankings run in seasons, one per calendar quarter. Season standings count only points earned inside the season, so everyone gets a fresh race.

  • When a season closes, its standings are frozen and finishing in the top 10 earns a season accolade on your profile.
  • Everyone then drops one tier for the new season. Missions you already earned stay earned and are never paid twice.
  • The leaderboard has city, province, region and Philippines views, and a list of past seasons.

For players

Free vs unlocked ranking

Free

Play, RSVP, check in and follow live games. Your points are still recorded, but public rankings show you only by your BRANKS ID, without your name, photo or points.

Unlocked

Your name, photo, rank and points appear on leaderboards, and badges, missions and season accolades show on your public profile.

How to unlock: New accounts get a free trial. After that, pay for a plan from your Plan page (QR Ph or GCash); paid days stack on top of any trial left. If your club has a running club plan, its players are unlocked automatically.

For players

On game day

  1. 1Open the event's live page from the organizer's QR code or the Live games list.
  2. 2Tap Join on the event's live page. Some events let you in at once; others put you on a waitlist until the organizer approves you. You can also be invited by an organizer: accept the invitation on your profile page.
  3. 3Check in when you arrive: on the live page or by name at the kiosk tablet.
  4. 4Tap “Alert me when I'm up” for a chime and notification when you reach Up Next. The banner shows your place in line either way.
  5. 5Play the court you are sent to. The organizer records the result (or approves the one sent from the kiosk).
  6. 6Open your result card to share it, and watch your points and missions update after verification.

Tip: Tap your name in the live Session rankings to open your own result card, and play different opponents each round to keep every game at full value.

For club organizers

Start your club

  1. 1Register a club organizer account, then create your club and wait for approval.
  2. 2Organizers use their own account type and don't play or get ranked. To do both, keep two accounts with different emails.
  3. 3Add your club details, then create your first event. Start small: one Balanced session with one court.
  4. 4Share the live link, QR poster or kiosk so players can find and check in to the event.

Roster in minutes

Search registered players, add them one by one, or paste a Reclub participant list and review the matches.

Fair rotation

Balanced matching favors players who have played least and waited longest, and avoids repeat partners.

Rankings for free

City, province and national rankings are built from how you finish in ranked events (wins, losses and win rate), with no extra work from you.

Club plan: A running club plan unlocks the ranking view for all of your club's players at once, so nobody has to pay individually. Community and official tournaments carry a one-off fee when the event is created.

For club organizers

Choose the event kind

The kind is picked when you create the event. It decides whether games count for ranking, how much they are worth, which matching styles you can use, and who approves the value.

Open play

Auto

Regular sessions and ladders. Counts for ranking at a low value, approved automatically.

Club league or tournament

Auto

A bracket or round robin run by your club, with no prize money. Counts for ranking, approved automatically.

Club wars

Auto

Squads competing against each other inside one event. Counts for ranking, approved automatically.

Community tournament

Reviewed

Inter-barangay or community events. Worth more, so a Super Admin approves the value before games earn points.

Official tournament

Reviewed

Municipal, provincial, regional or national tournaments. Worth the most, so a Super Admin approves the value first.

Practice or clinic

Not ranked

Training, demos and fun sessions. Does not count for ranking.

For club organizers

Run a session

  1. 1

    Create

Pick the kind, date, venue and courts. Choose doubles or singles.

  2. 2

    Roster

Search, import from Reclub, or let players RSVP.

  3. 3

    Check in

Toggle on the Roster, player self check-in, or the kiosk.

  4. 4

    Fill courts

Auto-fill open courts, then press Start on each.

  5. 5

    Record

Tap the winning team and the score. Players rotate back.

  1. 1Open your club's admin, choose Events and create the event. Pick Doubles (2 v 2) or Singles (1 v 1, Balanced matching only).
  2. 2Choose a matching style. Balanced is right for most sessions; see Matching styles below.
  3. 3Optionally set Max games per player. Players at the cap stay in the queue but are skipped by Auto-fill.
  4. 4Choose Who can join: anyone (they are on the roster at once) or you approve each player (they wait on a waitlist). Optionally set a player limit; once it is full, new players wait on the waitlist.
  5. 5Set the status to Open so players can join and check in, then Live when play starts. On the event page, Join requests and invitations is where you approve or decline the waitlist and invite players by name or BRANKS ID (you can limit the search to one club).
  6. 6Check names, skill levels, genders (Mixed Doubles) and club tags (Club Wars) before you start: they decide who can be matched.

For club organizers

Courts and results

The Courts screen shows courts in play first, empty courts underneath, and the queue beside them with who is up next and an estimated wait.

Auto-fill and Up next

Auto-fill proposes the next games. Up next 1 and 2 preview them before they start. Nothing starts until you tap Start on that court.

One-tap results

Tap Team 1 or Team 2 wins, then a score chip. Turn the court's Scores switch off to record just the winner (no margin bonus for those games).

Auto-send next match

Switch it on and ending a game immediately builds and starts the next one on that court. It works while the admin screen is open.

Swap mid-game

Someone hurt or leaving? Swap one player for a queued player, same team and slot. The player who comes in is credited with the game.

Add player

One tap checks a player in and puts them in the queue, for walk-ups who aren't on the roster screen yet.

Court settings

Rename, move, set to maintenance, close or remove a court from its Court settings fold.

Fixing a mistake: Open the match in Results to correct the score or mark it disputed. Admins resolve disputes before verifying. Every override is logged.

For club organizers

Kiosk and live screens

Check-in kiosk

Put a tablet at the entrance. Players type their name or BRANKS ID and tap once. The same tablet has a Report a result tab: a player picks the court, taps the winning team and can add the score.

The kiosk can only propose. A Result from kiosk box appears on that court and nothing counts until you tap Approve (or Dismiss).

Live view and TV mode

Share the public live view so players follow courts, the queue and Session rankings on their phones. Add ?tv=1 for a big-screen mode with courts, Up next, a rotating rankings sidebar and a QR code. Sized for 1920×1080.

Players see who is on each court and when their next match is called.

Tip: The Courts screen has Share live view, Check-in kiosk and QR/TV links in one place, so you can open each on the right device.

For club organizers

Scores, verification and event value

  1. 1Each finished game is listed in Results with its court, mode, duration and score.
  2. 2You don't have to verify by hand: when you end the event, every finished game is verified and credited automatically. Verify early to credit a game sooner, or dispute one to hold it back.
  3. 3Everyday kinds (open play, club leagues and club wars) get their value approved automatically.
  4. 4Community and official tournaments are worth more. Fill in the Event Value form on the event page before you end the event; a Super Admin approves it, then points, mission bonuses and badges are paid out.
  5. 5Share a verified result as a card, or open the public rankings for your city and province.

Event value: Value comes from the event type, level of play, field size, structure, eligibility, prizes and sanctioning, and sets the 0.5× to 3× multiplier players earn with. Practice sessions are never ranked.

Matching styles

Queue order is always the starting point; the style adds the rules your group needs. Choose the simplest one that fits. Which styles you can pick depends on the event kind.

StyleWhat it does
BalancedFills courts with whoever has waited longest/played least, avoiding repeat partners and opponents.
Winners / LosersThe winning pair on a court stays to face two new challengers; falls back to Balanced otherwise.
Skill SeparatedEvery game is played entirely within one of the six skill levels — levels never mix.
Skill CourtsEach court is permanently assigned a skill level by its position (Court 1 = Beginner, Court 2 = Advanced Beginner, Court 3 = Intermediate, and so on up to Expert, then repeating).
Mixed DoublesEvery team is one man and one woman. Players without a gender on file can't be matched in this mode.
King/Queen of the CourtOne throne court runs Winners/Losers rules — the reigning pair keeps playing until beaten. All other courts run Balanced.
Club WarsTwo clubs face off — teammates always share a club, opponents are always from a different club. Assign each player's club on the roster first.
TournamentA single-elimination bracket is generated once from whoever is checked in when auto-match first runs. Players who check in later are not added to the draw.

Skill levels

Six levels help matching and Skill Courts. A skill level is an organizer's rating of a player for sessions; it is separate from the ranking points a player earns.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Why didn't my game give me points?

Points are paid once a game is verified, which happens when the organizer ends the event. Practice events and games in an event whose value is still waiting for approval don't pay until it is approved.

Why can't I see my name on the rankings?

Rankings show your name, photo and points only while your ranking is unlocked (trial, paid plan, or a club plan). Until then you appear as your BRANKS ID.

Do I need an account to follow the action?

No. Live games and rankings are public. You need an account to RSVP, check in and earn points.

I can't start auto-match.

Courts need enough queued players (4 for doubles, 2 for singles) and must be Available. Players at the game cap, paused, or not in the queue aren't picked.

Why didn't the next game start by itself?

On purpose. Auto-fill proposes games and the organizer starts each one, unless you switched on Auto-send next match for that event.

A name wasn't found in the Reclub import.

Only players already registered in your club can be matched. Ask them to register, then add them from the search box.

Players can't see the live page.

The event must be Open or Live and the club approved. Re-share the current link or QR; the page refreshes by itself.

My check-in kiosk says check-in isn't open.

Set the event status to Open or Live.

A kiosk result looks wrong.

Tap Dismiss on the court. Nothing from the kiosk counts until you approve it, and you can enter the correct result yourself.

Ready to play?

Join an event and start climbing, or set up your club and run your first session.
